About

Tamarack Campground is a small USFS facility nestled along the Wild and Scenic Eagle Creek in the southern Wallowa Mountains. The campground offers 12 tent/trailer sites in an open, sunny setting with easy creek access. Three sites are fully ADA-accessible, and an accessible path leads to two fishing platforms on the creek. This popular campground fills quickly, especially on holiday weekends due to its easy access and scenic location. Primary activities include fishing in Eagle Creek, hiking, and bird watching. The campground operates seasonally from approximately May through September, with water and services available only during the open season. Access roads (Forest Roads 67 and 77) are narrow with gravel or dirt surfaces. Campers should come prepared with cash or check for the self-service fee station.
