About
Dewey Bridge Campground is a scenic BLM campground located along the banks of the Colorado River in eastern Utah, approximately 29 miles east of Moab along State Route 128. The campground features 7 individual campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, plus 3 group sites that can be reserved through Recreation.gov. Each individual site includes a parking pad for two vehicles, picnic table, fire ring, and access to vault toilets and trash receptacles.
The campground offers stunning views across the river to the red sandstone Entrada Bluffs and accommodates both tents and small RVs in quiet, shady sites beneath riverside vegetation. The location provides direct access to the Colorado River via a boat ramp, making it a popular spot for rafting and kayaking trips. The remains of the historic Dewey Bridge are nearby, and the campground sits close to Kokopelli's Trail, a popular multiple-use trail system connecting Loma, Colorado to Moab.
Visitors should note there is no potable water available at the campground, so bringing adequate water supplies is essential. The river can have dangerous undercurrents, and proper safety equipment including life jackets is required for river access. The campground's riverside location and proximity to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks makes it an excellent base camp for exploring southeastern Utah's red rock country.
