About
Marsh Lake Campground is a forested campground located at 9,400 feet elevation on the northern slope of Utah's Uinta Mountains within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The campground sits adjacent to Marsh Lake and offers approximately 47 sites across East and West loops, including standard single sites, double sites, and group camping options. Sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, and the campground provides vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection. The lake is open to non-motorized boating including canoes and kayaks, with a boat ramp on the west side and fishing docks extending from both sides. Rainbow and cutthroat trout fishing is popular. The surrounding area features lodgepole pine, ponderosa pine, and aspen forests with summer wildflowers. Moose and deer are commonly seen. China Meadows Trailhead is nearby, providing hikers and horseback riders access to the High Uintas Wilderness. Several OHV, hiking, and biking trails crisscross the area. The access road (Forest Road 072) is gravel and can be rough but is passable for all vehicles.
