Bridger Lake Campground

About

Bridger Lake Campground occupies a scenic position on the northern slope of the Uinta Mountains at 9,400 feet elevation, directly adjacent to Bridger Lake in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The 30-site campground features 28 standard sites and 2 designated RV sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Two ADA-accessible sites with cement parking spurs and pads are available. A thin forest of lodgepole pine, ponderosa pine, and aspen provides minimal shade, with summer wildflowers dotting the landscape. The lake offers rainbow and cutthroat trout fishing, and a small boat ramp accommodates canoes, kayaks, and other small watercraft at wakeless speeds. Moose and deer frequent the area. China Meadows Trailhead nearby provides hiking and horseback access into the High Uintas Wilderness. ATV trails, mountain biking routes, and additional fishing lakes are scattered throughout the region. The campground is operated by a concessionaire and requires reservations at least 5 days in advance, with first-come-first-served sites also available. Weekend stays require a 2-night minimum, holiday weekends require 3 nights. A dump station is located approximately half a mile away at Stateline Dam.

Directions

From Mountain View, Wyoming, take Highway 410 south for 7 miles, then County Road 246 for 8.2 miles. Turn onto Forest Road 072 and travel 7.9 miles to Forest Road 126. Turn onto FR 126 for a short distance to the campground.
