About

Bridger Lake Campground occupies a scenic location at 9,400 feet elevation on the northern slope of the Uinta Mountains, directly adjacent to Bridger Lake. The campground features 28 single sites and 2 double sites scattered through a thin forest of lodgepole pine, ponderosa pine, and aspen, with minimal shade and some sites offering partial lake views. Two ADA-accessible sites feature cement parking spurs and site pads, while remaining sites have gravel surfaces. Bridger Lake provides excellent fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout, along with opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and small watercraft boating via the on-site boat ramp. The area is crisscrossed with ATV, hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails, with the nearby China Meadows Trailhead providing access to the High Uintas backcountry. Wildlife including moose and deer frequent the area, and summer wildflowers dot the campground. The campground is managed by Utah Recreation Company and operates seasonally from mid-June through early September. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov with a 2-night minimum on weekends and 3-night minimum on holiday weekends. Each site includes a picnic table and campfire ring.

Directions

From Mountain View, Wyoming, take Highway 410 south for 7 miles, then County Road 283 for 8.2 miles. Turn onto Forest Road 072 and travel 7.9 miles to Forest Road 126. Turn onto FR 126 for a short distance to the campground.
