About

Lower Juan Miller Campground sits at 5,740 feet elevation in a peaceful canyon setting within the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. The campground is shaded by large Gambel oak and sycamore trees, providing welcome relief from Arizona's high desert sun. It sees light use, making it an excellent choice for campers seeking solitude. The campground offers basic amenities including 4 picnic tables with grills, a vault toilet, and trash service. No potable water is available on site, so campers must bring an adequate supply. A unique feature is what appears to be an old hand-dug cistern well visible north of the campground, a remnant of earlier times in this area. Located 27 miles north of Clifton via US Highway 191 and Forest Road 475, the campground sits just a quarter mile from Upper Juan Miller Campground. The area provides access to the scenic Coronado Trail and surrounding national forest lands.
