About
Black Jack Group Campground is a primitive group camping area in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in eastern Arizona, near the New Mexico border. The site sits at 6,300 feet elevation among Ponderosa pine and oak trees, offering scenic views from rocky bluffs above Blackjack Cave to the forested valley below. This is a no-fee, first-come first-served campground with minimal development. There is no potable water available, and campers must pack out all trash. Grills are provided on site. The 14-day stay limit applies as with all Forest Service campgrounds. The campground is located 14 miles southeast of Clifton on AZ 78, approximately 10 miles east of the New Mexico state line. The nearby Coronado Trail Scenic Byway offers excellent day trip opportunities through some of Arizona's most dramatic mountain terrain.
