About
Black Jack Campground offers a quiet, no-fee camping experience in eastern Arizona's Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. Located 14 miles southeast of Clifton on AZ 78 and about 10 miles from the New Mexico border, the campground sits at 6,300 feet elevation in a setting of Ponderosa pine and oak trees. The area is notable for rocky bluffs that rise above Blackjack Cave, providing scenic views particularly from the south end of the campground. The campground has 12 camping units and is well-suited for groups seeking a primitive camping experience. Facilities include one vault toilet and grills at the sites. There is no potable water available, so campers must bring their own supply. Trash service is not provided; pack out what you pack in. Usage is typically light, making it a good choice for those seeking solitude. The Coronado Trail Scenic Byway (US Route 191) is nearby, offering one of Arizona's most dramatic mountain drives for day trips. All Forest Service campgrounds have a 14-day stay limit.
