About
Honeymoon Campground offers a true backcountry experience along Eagle Creek in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Located 50 miles northwest of Clifton via US Highway 191 and Forest Road 217, this remote site sits at 5,440 feet elevation and provides an exceptionally quiet camping experience where you may be the only visitors for miles. The campground features 4 campsites nestled under a canopy of sycamore and cottonwood trees along the creek, with pinyon and juniper adding to the natural setting. Each site has a picnic table and grill. Eagle Creek flows through the area, offering excellent fishing opportunities and wildlife viewing. The riparian corridor attracts diverse wildlife, making it a peaceful spot for nature observation. This is a primitive, pack-in/pack-out facility with no fees, no water, and vault toilets. Campers must bring all supplies including drinking water and pack out all trash. The campground is open year-round and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations available.
