Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests visitors are limited to no more than 14 consecutive days within any 30 day period.
Bald Eagle Temporary Closure - Bear Canyon Lake - Black Mesa RD
The purpose of this Order is to reduce disturbance to bald eagles during nesting and fledgling seasons in the described area of Bear Canyon Lake on the Black Mesa Ranger District.

At approximately 6,300 feet elevation, the site provides a forested setting with a mix of trees and open spaces. The site is officially designated as a picnic area by the U.S. Forest Service, though some sources suggest limited primitive camping may be available. Visitors should contact the Clifton Ranger District directly to confirm current use policies. The area is free to use, with no reservations accepted. Facilities are minimal at this remote location. Visitors should come prepared to pack out all trash and bring their own water supply. The San Francisco River provides opportunities for fishing and wildlife viewing in this relatively undeveloped corner of the national forest.

Frisco Camp Picnic Site is located in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests near Morenci, Arizona. From Morenci, take US Route 191 north for approximately 13 miles; the campground will be on the right.
