About
Clear Lake North Group Campground sits at 2,930 feet elevation along the North Fork of the Tieton River in Washington's Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This secluded group site is positioned between the popular Rimrock Lake and the quieter Clear Lake, shaded by a canopy of towering pine and fir trees. The single group site can accommodate up to 40 people with parking for approximately 10 vehicles or 5 RVs, with walk-in access to a spacious tent camping area. The campground features accessible vault toilets, picnic tables, and a group campfire ring. Campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash, as no potable water or trash collection services are provided. Reservations are made through Recreation.gov. Recreational opportunities abound in the area, including fishing for kokanee salmon and trout, kayaking, and canoeing on nearby Rimrock Lake and Clear Lake. Mountain biking and day hiking trails are accessible from the area. In September, the Bureau of Reclamation's release of water into the Tieton Valley creates exciting whitewater conditions for rafting enthusiasts.
Directions
From Naches, follow Highway 12 west approximately 34 miles to County Road 1200/Tieton Reservoir Road at the west end of Rimrock Lake (Milepost 158.5). Turn south/left on County Road 1200 and follow for about 0.3 miles to Road 740. Continue for a half-mile; the group site is the second campsite on the left along the North Fork Tieton River.
