About

Lookout Campground and Boat Launch is located on the northeastern shore of Blue River Reservoir in the Willamette National Forest along the West Cascades National Scenic Byway. The campground features a unique open meadow layout without designated campsites, accommodating approximately 20 camping units for tents or RVs in a flexible, rustic setting. This makes it particularly popular for group camping. The facility includes a paved day use area with boat launch and floating dock, while the camping area is gravel-surfaced. An on-site host provides assistance during the operating season. The reservoir draws visitors for fishing, boating, swimming, and waterskiing. Nearby trails include Buck Mountain Trail and Lookout Creek Old Growth Trail, offering excellent hiking opportunities through the western slopes of the Cascade Mountains. Hot springs are located within 10 miles of the campground. Lookout Campground operates year-round with a combination of first-come-first-served and reservable sites during peak season. The campground provides drinking water, vault toilets, and firewood for sale. Campers should practice bear awareness and follow Leave No Trace principles. Note that this campground is on Blue River Reservoir, not Lookout Point Lake near Oakridge.
