About
Lofton Reservoir Campground is one of three recreation sites in the Lofton Recreation Area Complex, located in the Fremont-Winema National Forest in Lake County, Oregon. The high-elevation setting features a mixed conifer forest surrounding a reservoir stocked annually with fish. The campground offers 26 sites including 24 standard sites, 5 group sites, and 1 ADA-designated site. All roads are paved, making it ideal for towing trailers or boats. Each campsite includes a fire ring, grill, picnic table, and tent pad. Four vault toilets serve the campground. There is no potable water on site; campers must bring an adequate supply. Trash is pack-out only. A camp host is present during summer months to assist visitors. The reservoir has an ADA-accessible boat ramp and fishing pier. Boating is limited to electric motors with a 5 mph speed limit. Beyond fishing, visitors can hike the 1.5-mile trail to Heart Lake, a moderate 3-mile round trip with an uphill return. The lakeside environment attracts migratory birds and deer.
