About

Holbrook Reservoir Campground is a free, primitive camping area in Oregon's Fremont-Winema National Forest, located about 35 minutes southeast of Bly. The campground sits within the Lofton Recreation Area and provides access to Holbrook Reservoir, which is stocked with fish on a rotational basis. A boat ramp and dock accommodate boats with electric motors (5 mph speed limit). Four designated campsites feature picnic tables, fire rings, and grates, while approximately eight dispersed sites throughout the campground have no amenities. Two vault toilets serve the area. No potable water is available, so visitors must bring their own supply. The landscape is dominated by ponderosa pines, creating a cool, shady environment. The campground sees increased use during fall hunting season. In winter, snowmobilers frequently travel from Quartz Mountain Sno-Park to Holbrook Reservoir. Recreation opportunities include picnicking, fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing.

Directions

From the Bly Ranger District Office, take Highway 140 East toward Lakeview approximately 13 miles to Quartz Mountain Sno-Park/Forest Service Road 3715.
