About

Happy Camp Campground sits along peaceful Dairy Creek in the Fremont-Winema National Forest at an elevation of 5,289 feet. The creek flows through the middle of the campground, providing anglers with opportunities to fish for rainbow trout. With only nine sites, this is a quiet destination ideal for those seeking solitude in Oregon's high desert forest. All campsites are equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. The campground has one vault toilet but no potable water; the nearest water source is at Clear Springs Forest Camp, approximately 1.5 miles west on Forest Service Road 047. There are no garbage receptacles, so campers must pack out all trash. No fees or reservations are required. Beyond fishing and relaxing creekside, visitors can hike nearby trails or enjoy a game of horseshoes at the campground's horseshoe pits. The historic picnic shelters, constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s, add character to this classic national forest campground.
