About

Clear Springs Campground sits at approximately 5,400 feet elevation along Dairy Creek in the Fremont-Winema National Forest, about one hour southwest of Paisley, Oregon. This is a very basic, dispersed-style camping area with minimal developed amenities: one picnic table, one fire ring, one vault toilet, and various dispersed camping spots. The campground is primarily used by hunters during hunting season and sees light use otherwise. The area offers rainbow trout fishing opportunities in Dairy Creek, and there's a natural spring approximately a quarter mile down the road from the main camping area. Access requires navigating forest roads including FR 33, FR 28, and FR 2800-047. No fees are charged for camping, and there is no garbage service, so visitors must pack out all trash. Campers should bring adequate water supplies as no potable water is available on-site.

Directions

From Paisley, head west on Mill Street which becomes Forest Road 33. Stay left and continue on FR 33 for 20 miles. At the T intersection with FR 28, stay left. Take FR 28 for 2 miles. Just before crossing Dairy Creek, turn right on FR 2800-047. Go 4 miles to a pull-off marked Clear Springs. From Lakeview, take Highway 140 west 3 miles, turn right onto County Road 2-16 for 5 miles, then left onto County Road 2-16A which becomes FR 28 within 2 miles. Follow FR 28 for 19 miles, and just after crossing Dairy Creek, turn left on FR 2800-047 and go 4 miles to the campground.
