About

Little Fawn Campground occupies a scenic location on the southeastern shores of Elk Lake in the Deschutes National Forest. The campground provides direct access to Elk Lake's recreational opportunities including boating, windsurfing, water skiing, swimming, and fishing. A boat ramp is located adjacent to the campground, and a large day-use beach area offers shoreline access. From various points around the lake, visitors can catch views of South Sister and Mt. Bachelor. The surrounding wetlands, diverse forests, and rocky slopes provide habitat for shorebirds, porcupine, deer, bats, and occasional black bears. Nearby hiking trails extend into the Cascade wilderness. The campground is located along the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, a 66-mile drive weaving past snow-capped peaks and alpine lakes. Lava Lands Visitor Center and Newberry National Volcanic Monument are nearby attractions in the Bend area.
