About
Limberlost Campground is a secluded group site tucked into the Douglas fir and western red cedar forest along Lost Creek in Oregon's Willamette National Forest. The campground takes its name from "Girl of the Limberlost," a classic novel by American writer and naturalist Gene Stratton-Porter. The 12-site layout operates as one reservable group site that can accommodate up to 75 people. The setting is small, rustic, and compact, with vine maples and thimbleberry bushes providing natural screening between sites. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Vault toilets and garbage service are provided, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Firewood is not available on-site but can be purchased at nearby Olallie Campground. Recreation opportunities abound in the surrounding area. The Three Sisters Wilderness and Mt. Washington Wilderness offer extensive hiking, while Lost Creek provides fishing and swimming. Belknap Hot Springs is a short drive away for those seeking relaxation. Mountain biking trails are available outside the wilderness boundaries.
