Trail Bridge Campground

Closed — Closed through spring 2026 for EWEB Carmen-Smith hydroelectric facility upgrades. Vehicle access to the campground and boat launch is restricted as Forest Service Roads 730, 690, and 689 are closed for the duration of the project. Expected to reopen for the 2026 camping season, typically around May. The McKenzie River Trail and associated trailheads remain open.

Alcohol Prohibitions

This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.

Aquatic Invasive Species

This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.

Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products

This Order prohibits unloading, storing, or using any straw, hay, grain, seed, or other forage or mulch products that are not state-certified weed free on the National Forest System lands, roads or trails in any Closure Area as specific in the Order.

Portion of Forest Service Road 1003 (Tom Creek Road) closed

A portion of Forest Service Road 1003, also known as Tom Creek Road, is closed. The road closure starts at the junction of FSR 10 and FSR 1003 and includes the first 4.1 miles of FSR 1003 to the junction with the 1003-416 and 1003-409 roads.

Sno-park Permits required Nov. 1 to Apr. 30

Sno-Park Permits are required to park in designated sno-parks from November 1 through April 30. Sno-Park Permits are managed by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).

Trail Bridge Campground sits on the shore of Trail Bridge Reservoir in the Willamette National Forest, offering a mix of forested and open camping sites. Campsites are nestled under large old-growth Douglas fir trees or situated in an open grassy meadow, providing options for different camping preferences. This is a popular summer destination offering excellent fishing opportunities and a gravel boat ramp for accessing the reservoir. The campground serves as a convenient access point to the nearby McKenzie River National Recreation Trail, making it ideal for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. When operating with full services, the campground includes a host, flush and portable toilets, drinking water from faucets, and dumpsters. The facility can accommodate trailers up to 45 feet in length. During the off-season, the campground remains open for self-contained camping with vault toilets available but no services or fees. A 10 mph speed limit applies for boats on the reservoir.

From McKenzie Bridge, Oregon, travel east on Highway 126 to Forest Road 732. Follow Forest Road 732 around Trail Bridge Reservoir to Forest Road 730. Continue up Forest Road 730 to Trail Bridge Campground on the left.
