* WHAT...Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations 1 to 2 feet above 4500 feet, with up to 3 to 4 feet at the highest peaks. Minor snowfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches down to 4000 feet. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park above 4500 feet. * WHEN...From 5 PM Friday to 11 PM PDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute and weekend mountain travel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels generally remain above pass levels through Friday afternoon, dropping to around 6000-7000 ft Friday night-Saturday, then lowering to around 4000-5000 ft late Saturday into Sunday. Heaviest snow rates and lowest snow levels will be Saturday afternoon through Sunday.

Legacy Campground is a developed facility with 14 sites situated near the shores of Lake Almanor in Lassen National Forest. The campground provides convenient access to Lake Almanor's recreational opportunities while offering modern amenities including water and electrical hookups at every site. Double site 11 features two sets of hookups for larger groups. An RV dump station is located adjacent to the campground for pay-per-use. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Each site accommodates up to 8 people for single sites and 16 people for double sites, with a maximum of 2 vehicles per site. Standard amenities include picnic tables and fire rings at each site, vault toilets, and potable water. The facility is managed by the Almanor Ranger District and maintains quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Legacy Campground serves as a convenient base for exploring Lake Almanor and the surrounding national forest. The Lake Almanor Recreation Trail passes nearby, and a paved boat launch is located approximately half a mile away adjacent to Almanor North Campground. The town of Chester is 10 miles north for supplies and services.

Directions

From Highway 36 near Chester, travel south 5.9 miles on Highway 89 to the intersection with Lake Almanor Drive West. The campground is located between Lake Almanor and Highway 89.
