About

Bogard Campground offers a tranquil, no-fee camping experience in Lassen National Forest's Eagle Lake Ranger District. Located 1.75 miles off Highway 44 via dirt road, this quiet campground features 10 first-come, first-served sites nestled among beautiful aspens and pines along Pine Creek. At 5,600 feet elevation, the campground provides a scenic setting with proximity to Bogard Buttes and access to nearby trails. The campground includes four dedicated equestrian sites, each with two corrals for a total of eight corrals, making it popular with horse campers. Basic amenities include hand-pumped drinking water (seasonal), vault toilets, and trash collection. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. While high-clearance vehicles are recommended for the access road, 4WD is not necessary. Bogard Campground serves as a peaceful base for exploring the area's volcanic landscapes and is close enough to Lassen Volcanic National Park to take day trips to the park's attractions. The remote location and lack of fees make it an excellent choice for campers seeking solitude and natural beauty.
