About
Bogard Campground is a quiet, primitive campground located 1.75 miles off Highway 44 in the Eagle Lake Ranger District of Lassen National Forest. At 5,600 feet elevation, this secluded spot offers 10 campsites nestled among beautiful aspens with Pine Creek running adjacent to the campground. This free campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. Facilities are basic: vault toilets and typically a hand pump for drinking water, though water systems may not always be operational. The maximum trailer length is 25 feet, and the maximum stay is 14 days. The campground generally opens in spring after snowmelt and closes in fall when winter conditions make access difficult. The area is not maintained during winter months and may be inaccessible due to snow. This is an ideal spot for campers seeking solitude away from more developed facilities.
