About

Lee Thomas Campground is a small, rustic campground located in the Fremont-Winema National Forest along the banks of the North Fork of the Wild and Scenic Sprague River. The campground features seven campsites set among lodgepole pine trees, rock outcroppings, and riparian meadows, with all sites positioned close enough to hear the river flowing by. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire grate. The campground is free to use and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations required. Amenities are minimal, consisting of one vault toilet. The remote location and light usage level make this an ideal destination for campers seeking solitude and a peaceful riverside setting. Just one mile east of the campground is the Lee Thomas Trailhead, which provides access to the Deadhorse Rim Trail #139. The river offers opportunities for fishing, and the surrounding forest provides excellent wildlife viewing. The campground is located approximately 90 minutes southwest of Paisley or 95 minutes northeast of Bly via forest service roads.
