About
Jones Bay is one of Lake Roosevelt's smaller, more rustic campgrounds, perfect for campers seeking a remote primitive experience. Located at the bottom of a ravine that opens into a beautiful bay on Lake Roosevelt, the campground sits within the brush steppe landscape, creating a desert atmosphere with antelope brush and sage. The campground is mostly gravel and packed dirt with minimal vegetation along the lakeshore. The campground offers 9 reservable campsites, all available through Recreation.gov. Each site accommodates up to 10 people and 2 vehicles, with a maximum RV length that varies by site. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, though no hookups are available. Jones Bay features a small boat ramp and dock, making it popular with boaters and anglers who enjoy fishing from both water and shore. The campground can be accessed by boat or by car via a sandy narrow road. From Wilbur, it's approximately 11 miles following Sherman Road and Jones Bay Road. The remote location at the end of this challenging access road contributes to the campground's quiet, primitive character. Campers should note there is no potable water available on-site, and facilities consist of vault toilets only.
