About

Hunters Group Site sits along the northern shoreline of Lake Roosevelt, a 130-mile lake on the Columbia River created by the Grand Coulee Dam. The campground features three group sites that can each accommodate up to 25 people, making it popular among hunting groups, fishermen, and families. The facility is situated in a thick Ponderosa pine forest that provides ample shade, though there are no direct views of the lake from the campsites. The area is abundant with wildlife including moose, elk, deer, and bald eagles. Lake Roosevelt offers excellent fishing for walleye, bass, rainbow trout, salmon, and sturgeon during limited seasons. A boat launch within the facility is open year-round, and a beach provides easy access to the water. The campground operates on a reservation-only basis from March through November. Each site includes fire pits, and the facility offers flush toilets and drinking water from May 1st to September 30th, weather permitting. During the off-season, vault toilets are available but water is turned off. The remote location offers solitude while still being near the small town of Hunters. Visitors can enjoy educational programs, leisurely walks to the lake, swimming in summer, and hunting in designated areas of the park.
