About

Steamboat Rock State Park encompasses over 5,000 acres at the north end of Banks Lake in Washington's dramatic Grand Coulee region. The park takes its name from the massive 700-foot basalt butte that rises from the lakeshore, resembling a steamboat's profile. The campground spreads across multiple loops including Bay Camp, Dune Camp, Cove Loop, and Sage Loop, offering sites ranging from primitive walk-in spots to full-hookup RV sites accommodating rigs up to 50 feet. The park provides 50,000 feet of freshwater shoreline with excellent swimming, boating, and fishing opportunities on Banks Lake. A designated swimming beach, boat launch, and accessible fishing dock serve water enthusiasts. Beyond the water, trails wind through the sagebrush steppe and climb to the top of Steamboat Rock itself, offering panoramic views of the surrounding coulees. Facilities include modern flush restrooms with showers, a dump station, drinking water throughout the campground, and accessible sites and restrooms. An equestrian camp with corrals serves riders exploring the park's multi-use trails. The Lake Craves concession operates seasonally, offering food, ice, and firewood with campsite delivery available.
