Hawk Creek Campground
Closed for the entire 2026 recreation season due to the Hawk Creek Road Improvements and Stabilization Project. The closure runs from April 16 through October 6, 2026, with a possible extension to October 30. The campground, boat launch, docks, restrooms, and waterway access are all closed. A gate at the Miles Creston intersection blocks vehicle access, and a log boom seals off boat access at the Hawk Creek narrows.

About
Hawk Creek Campground occupies a secluded spot in a ravine along Hawk Creek at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. A small waterfall near the campground adds to the natural ambiance, while the geological features of the ravine leading to the Columbia River confluence make this a visually striking location. The campground is popular for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and bird watching. The campground has 20 individual sites, all reservation-only through Recreation.gov. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. Vault toilets are available year-round, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. No hookups are available. RVs and trailers up to 40 feet are permitted, though site length varies. The courtesy dock and small boat ramp provide access to Lake Roosevelt for watercraft. Nearby attractions include Fort Spokane Visitor Center and Museum, located 8.5 miles away, which operates seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Self-guided trails through the historic fort grounds are open year-round.
Directions
From Spokane, take Highway 2 west for 32 miles to Davenport. Turn north onto Highway 25 and travel 24 miles. Turn left onto Miles Creston Road and travel 8.5 miles. Turn right just before the bridge and follow signs to the campground.
