Johnsons Shut-ins State Park Camper Cabins

Open — Open year-round and must be reserved in advance through Missouri State Parks' Centralized Reservation System. Three-night minimum stay required on holiday weekends.

About

Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park camper cabins provide a comfortable base for exploring this unique natural area in Missouri's St. Francois Mountains. The park's six camper cabins are situated in Loop 2 of the campground, offering year-round accommodations for up to six guests per cabin. Each unit features a queen-size bed and sofa, along with modern conveniences including electricity, heating and air conditioning, a compact refrigerator, and microwave. A dining table, ceiling fan, porch bench, picnic table, pedestal grill, and campfire grill complete the amenities. These cabins are designed for campers who want a step up from tent camping while still experiencing the outdoors. The cabins do not include water or restrooms, but a modern central restroom and showerhouse facility is located within walking distance and operates year-round. Guests should bring their own linens, sleeping bags, lanterns, cooking and eating utensils, and water containers. Open-flame cooking is not permitted inside cabins or on porches, though non-flame cooking devices are allowed. Three of the six cabins (1, 5, and 6) participate in the Cabins for Canines program, welcoming up to two dogs. Parking is limited to two vehicles per cabin.

Directions

From Middle Brook, MO, take Highway N north for approximately 3 miles. Turn right onto State Highway MM and continue for about 2 miles to the park entrance.
