Highway K is a scenic U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground situated along the Black River, just a few miles upstream of Clearwater Lake in Reynolds County, Missouri. The 83 campsites extend across both banks of the river within a lush, wooded setting of mixed Ozark hardwoods. The campground offers a mix of standard electric sites with 50-amp service and water hookups, as well as standard non-electric sites for tent camping. Facilities include hot showers, flush restrooms, a dump station, picnic shelter, and playground. The clear waters of the Black River are a major draw, offering excellent fishing, canoeing, and wading opportunities during warmer months. Generator use is prohibited between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., and firewood restrictions are in effect requiring campers to buy locally. Nearby attractions include Elephant Rocks State Park, Johnson Shut-ins State Park, and Fort Davidson State Historic Site, all within an easy day trip. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov during peak season (May 15 through September 14), with first-come, first-served availability outside that window.
