About

Highway K Park provides a serene riverside camping experience on the Black River in Missouri's Mark Twain National Forest region. Managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers as part of the Clearwater Lake project, this 83-site campground extends over both sides of the river bank, nestled in a lush wooded area of mixed hardwoods. The campground offers a variety of camping options, with many sites featuring electric hookups and some with water hookups. Amenities include a dump station, hot showers, a picnic shelter, and a playground, making it suitable for both RVs and tent camping. The clear waters of the Black River are the main attraction, drawing anglers and paddlers throughout the season. Campers enjoy wading in the refreshing river during warmer months, and the calm riverside atmosphere makes it an ideal base for exploring the area. Nearby attractions include Elephant Rocks State Park, Johnson Shut-ins State Park, and the historic Civil War site at Fort Davidson State Park, all within easy day-trip distance. Outside peak season, the campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
