Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park Shelter is a group camping facility located within the Special-Use Area of this popular Ozark park in Reynolds County, Missouri. The shelter is part of Area 1, the largest of four special-use camping zones, capable of accommodating approximately 50 people. The facility includes a covered shelter structure, picnic table, fire pit, and lantern post for group gatherings and overnight camping. The park is renowned for its unique geological formations where the East Fork of the Black River flows through billion-year-old igneous rock, creating natural water slides and swimming holes known as "shut-ins." Campers have access to hiking trails, swimming areas, fishing, and educational programs at the Black River Center. Full-service restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers are available during the on-season (approximately April through October). During the off-season, frost-free water spigots remain accessible. Groups pay $2 per person per night and can reserve the shelter by contacting the park directly. Priority for reservations is given to nonprofit organizations and youth groups.

From Ironton, Missouri, take Highway 21 south approximately 8 miles. Turn west onto Highway N and continue about 7 miles to the park entrance at 148 Taum Sauk Trail, Middle Brook, MO 63656.
