About

Jasper State Recreation Site sits at 554 feet elevation along the Middle Fork Willamette River, approximately 10 miles southeast of Eugene-Springfield. The park is especially popular for weddings, family reunions, and large group picnics, offering four reservable group picnic areas with covered cooking facilities, sinks, and nearby flush restrooms. Shelter #4 includes an expanded covered seating area for larger gatherings. The upstream portion of the park features walking trails through a lush riparian forest with the river as a constant backdrop. Downstream, an off-leash dog area provides space for pets to exercise. Playfields, a playground, and volleyball courts add recreational options for families. The park also serves as an access point for the Willamette River Water Trail, with easy canoe and kayak launching for paddlers exploring this scenic stretch of river. Limited overnight camping is offered seasonally, though the park primarily functions as a day-use facility. Day-use parking permits are required year-round and can be purchased on-site or through an annual Oregon State Parks pass.
