About
Lowell State Recreation Site sits on the north shore of Dexter Lake adjacent to the city of Lowell in Lane County. This day-use facility offers a variety of recreational opportunities centered around lake access and family-friendly amenities. The park features a reservable picnic shelter overlooking the lake, a wooded picnic area with tables, a large swim beach backed by expansive lawn, a playground, and a basketball court. The marina provides moorage slips ranging from 8 to 11 feet wide, a courtesy dock, and a 4-lane boat launch ramp supporting sailing, water skiing, fishing, paddling, rowing, and drag boat racing. Bald eagles are frequently spotted around the lake. Flush restrooms and a life jacket loaner station are available. This is a day-use only facility with no overnight camping. Day-use parking costs $10 per vehicle or an annual pass. The picnic shelter is reservable from April 1 through October 31; outside that window or when unreserved, it operates first-come, first-served.
Directions
From Eugene, take OR-58 east toward Oakridge. After approximately 12 miles, take the Lowell/Dexter exit and follow signs to the city of Lowell. The park is located on the north shore of Dexter Lake.
