About

Whispering Pine Horse Camp is a dedicated equestrian campground nestled below a thick ponderosa pine forest mixed with birch in the Deschutes National Forest. Located west of Sisters, Oregon along the McKenzie Pass Highway (Highway 242), this rustic nine-site camp is designed specifically for horse campers seeking access to the Three Sisters Wilderness Area. Each site features a newly renovated 4-horse corral, fire pit, and picnic table. Livestock water is available on-site, but no potable drinking water is provided. Vault toilets serve the campground. Sites accommodate one RV with tow vehicle or one tent camping vehicle, with room for a second vehicle at an additional fee. Most sites are back-in, with one pull-through site available. Maximum site spur length is 40 feet. Horse campers must use certified weed-seed-free hay as required throughout Deschutes National Forest. Horses must remain in the provided corrals and may not be tethered, picketed, high-lined, or kept in portable corrals outside the stalls.
