About

Located eleven miles west of Sisters, Oregon, off Highway 242, Whispering Pine Horse Camp is a rustic nine-site campground specifically designed for equestrians. The campground is nestled below a thick ponderosa pine forest mixed with birch in the wet areas, providing natural shade and a peaceful setting for camping with horses. Each site includes corrals to accommodate horses, and the campground serves as a convenient base for exploring nearby trails and accessing the Three Sisters Wilderness Area. The pine forest provides excellent opportunities for horseback riding, hiking, bird watching, and nature observation. Due to the limited number of horse campgrounds in the area, the Forest Service requests that campers without horses consider alternative nearby campgrounds. The campground requires weed-free feed for horses as part of efforts to reduce invasive species on national forest lands. With a maximum site spur length of 40 feet, the campground can accommodate moderate-sized rigs. The town of Sisters is just 6 miles away, offering additional amenities and attractions for visitors.
