About
Elijah Bristow State Park spans nearly 850 acres along the Middle Fork Willamette River, offering a peaceful escape just southeast of Eugene via Highway 58. The park features over 10 miles of well-maintained trails winding through diverse habitats including ponds, wetlands, meadows, and riverside areas. Popular activities include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing for salmon and steelhead. The park includes an equestrian staging area with horse trailer parking, a vault toilet, barbecue, picnic shelter, and water. Three group picnic areas (Ash, Cedar, and Big Leaf Maple) are available for reservation from May through September, each accommodating up to 75 people. A fenced off-leash dog area near the main entrance provides space for dogs to run freely. This is a day-use only facility with no overnight camping. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with osprey, herons, eagles, beavers, and turtles commonly spotted along the trails and waterways.
