About
Cascara Campground sits on the upper end of the Fall Creek Arm of Fall Creek Reservoir, approximately 27 miles southeast of Eugene in Lane County, Oregon. As the largest campground at Fall Creek State Recreation Area, it offers 39 primitive campsites tucked among towering Douglas fir trees, with many sites providing views of the lake. The campground serves as one of three main access points to the reservoir and provides a full range of lakeside amenities including a boat launch ramp, fishing dock, swimming area, and lawn space. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations accepted. Facilities include vault toilets and potable water. The reservoir itself spans 1,852 acres and offers varied recreation opportunities including fishing, boating, waterskiing, swimming, hiking, and bicycling. The lake is drawn down each winter for flood control and downstream water management. Cascara Campground provides rustic camping with private sites suitable for tents and RVs. Nearby day-use areas around the reservoir offer additional picnic and recreation opportunities. The campground's location along Big Fall Creek Road and Peninsula Road provides convenient access to the lake while maintaining a secluded, forested atmosphere.
