About
Jacob Lake Group Campground & Picnic Site sits in the scenic Kaibab Plateau at 7,920 feet elevation, nestled among towering Ponderosa pine trees near the gateway to Grand Canyon's North Rim. The facility features two group campsites that can accommodate up to 100 people each, making it ideal for large gatherings, family reunions, and group events. A separate group picnic area is also available for day use on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground offers ramadas, grills, picnic tables, flush toilets, and potable water. Roads within the facility are gravel, and the location is conveniently set along US 89A yet far enough back to provide privacy. Jacob Lake Inn with a restaurant, gas station, gift shop, and limited groceries is located across the street, along with the Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center. The area offers excellent opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, and sightseeing. The Kaibab Plateau is home to the tassel-eared Kaibab squirrel, found nowhere else in the world. Visitors can enjoy a one-mile loop trail from the campground or access the Arizona Trail just 10 minutes away. Grand Canyon National Park's North Rim is 44 miles south, offering less-crowded trails and spectacular canyon views during its mid-May through mid-October operating season.
