The 38-site campground is surrounded by mixed conifer forests of spruce, fir, and ponderosa pine, characteristic of the high Kaibab Plateau. The campground serves as a convenient base for exploring the North Rim area, offering camping and picnicking opportunities amid the plateau's distinctive ecosystem. The area is home to unique wildlife including the tassel-eared Kaibab squirrel, found nowhere else in the world. Visitors enjoy hiking trails through the forest, wildlife viewing, and unparalleled access to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
