About

Iris Meadow Campground is a 14-site family campground tucked into Rock Creek Canyon in Inyo National Forest, approximately 5 miles southwest of Tom's Place off Highway 395. At 8,300 feet elevation, the campground occupies a peaceful setting among aspens and willows, with sites arranged around a small meadow. Wild irises bloom in late spring, lending the campground its name. Some campsites are positioned along Rock Creek, offering the ambient sound of rushing water. This is an active bear area, and all campers must store food and scented items in the provided bear-resistant boxes when not actively cooking or eating. The campground offers flush toilets and potable water from a hand pump. Sites accommodate RVs up to 26 feet. No reservations are accepted; registration is on a first-come, first-served basis at the campground. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the maximum stay is 14 days.

Directions

From Bishop, drive 23 miles north on Highway 395 to Tom's Place. Turn southwest on Rock Creek Road and continue approximately 5 miles to the campground on the right.
