About
Holiday Campground is located in the lower Rock Creek canyon of Inyo National Forest, about half a mile up Rock Creek Road from Tom's Place. At roughly 7,500 feet elevation, it serves as a convenient base for fishing Rock Creek and accessing trails to Mildred Lake, Lake Dorothy, Lake Genevieve, and Laurel Lakes. The campground has 35 sites suitable for tents and trailers. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water from a hand pump, picnic tables at each site, and bear boxes which are mandatory. There are no electrical hookups, showers, or dump stations. Dogs are permitted but must be leashed in all developed areas. Holiday Campground is currently closed for redesign and available for administrative use only. When operational, the campground is first-come, first-served with no reservations. Standard rates are $35 per night for a single site and $10 for additional vehicles. When water and trash services are shut down seasonally, camping is free.
Directions
From Mammoth Lakes, drive south on US 395 for approximately 13 miles. Take the Tom's Place exit and follow Rock Creek Road (Forest Highway 12) for about half a mile. From Bishop, travel north on US 395 for about 30 miles, take the Tom's Place exit, and follow Rock Creek Road for about half a mile.
