About

Upper Pine Grove Campground sits at 9,400 feet in the Rock Creek drainage of Inyo National Forest, approximately 8 miles west of Tom's Place off Highway 395. The campground offers 9 sites tucked among mature Jeffrey pines along Rock Creek, providing a classic Eastern Sierra camping experience with easy access to excellent trout fishing and hiking. Amenities are basic but sufficient: vault toilets, potable water via hand pump, picnic tables, and bear boxes (mandatory use, typical size 48" x 30" x 36"). Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis with self-registration at the campground. The 14-day stay limit and 10 PM to 6 AM quiet hours are standard. The campground's limited parking and tight access make it unsuitable for large motorhomes or trailers. Some sites are flat for easier accessibility. Dogs are allowed but must remain leashed. Rock Creek Road may have construction delays, so allow extra time when traveling to the campground.

Directions

From Bishop take US Hwy 395 north to Tom's Place. Or from Mammoth Lakes go south on 395 to Tom's Place. Turn west on Rock Creek Lake Road and go approximately 8 miles to the campground on the left.
