About
Indian Crossing Campground is a BLM-managed developed campground nestled along the Green River in the remote Browns Park valley of northeastern Utah. The campground sits adjacent to the day-use area of the historic John Jarvie Ranch, a site settled in the 1880s that was once frequented by outlaws including Butch Cassidy. The 20 individual sites and one group site each include picnic tables, fire rings, and parking areas, with drinking water and restrooms available. The campground operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors must be physically present to claim and pay for a site, and same-day occupancy is required. Payment can be made via the Recreation.gov Scan & Pay app or at the on-site Iron Ranger using cash or check. Browns Park is renowned for its blue ribbon trout fishing along the Green River from Flaming Gorge Dam to the Colorado state line. Fishing is limited to artificial bait only with specific slot limits. Several launch points provide access for floating the Green River, with life jackets required. The nearby John Jarvie Historic Ranch offers interpreted historic buildings and artifacts, and guided tours are available by appointment.
