About
Illinois River Forks State Park is a scenic day-use park situated at the meeting point of the east and west forks of the Illinois River, just outside Cave Junction in Josephine County. The park provides easy access to river recreation, though visitors should be aware of swift currents and cold water temperatures common to mountain rivers. The park features a 9-hole disc golf course, short walking trails, and picnic facilities including a reservable shelter that can accommodate groups up to 50 people. A life jacket loaner station is available at Heritage Landing for those interested in water activities. The West Forks Trail system for horseback riding is located approximately 3 miles from the park. This is a day-use only facility. No overnight camping is available at Illinois River Forks State Park. Campers seeking overnight accommodations should explore nearby private campgrounds in the Cave Junction area.
