About
Store Gulch Campground is a small, primitive campground located along the designated Wild and Scenic Illinois River in Oregon's Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The campground offers six sites total: four standard drive-in campsites and two walk-in sites accessible by foot. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit. A vault toilet is available, but there is no drinking water, so campers must bring their own supply. This is a pack-it-out campground with no trash service. Campfires are permitted only in the developed fire pits. Dogs are allowed but must remain on leash. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and has a 14-day maximum stay limit. OHV/ATV use is prohibited within the campground. The nearby Store Gulch Day Use Area and Store Gulch Trail provide access to the Illinois River for swimming and other river activities. A steep 0.25-mile trail with a footbridge connects the day use area to the campground. The campground is accessed from Selma via Highway 199 and approximately 9 miles on Illinois River Road (Forest Road 4301).
Directions
From Selma, OR, take Highway 199 and turn onto Illinois River Road (Forest Road 4301). Continue approximately 9 miles to the campground. You will pass the Store Gulch Day Use Area and Store Gulch Guard Station; the next left leads into the campground.
