About
Sixmile Campground is a primitive walk-in campground located along the Wild and Scenic Illinois River in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The facility offers 4 campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire pit, providing a quiet retreat for campers seeking a more rustic experience. The campground requires a short walk from the parking area to the campsites, adding to its secluded atmosphere. The campground does not provide drinking water or trash service, so visitors must bring their own water and pack out all garbage. Two vault toilets are available within walking distance of the sites. Across the road from the camping area, two covered picnic sites offer additional day-use opportunities. The location provides easy access to Six Mile Day Use Area and various hiking trails in the surrounding area. Situated approximately 6 miles from Selma, Oregon via Illinois River Road (Forest Road 4301), the campground serves as a base for exploring the Wild and Scenic Illinois River corridor. The maximum stay limit is 14 days, with quiet hours enforced between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Campfires are permitted in developed fire pits only, and pets must be kept on leash.
Directions
From Selma, Oregon, turn onto Illinois River Road (Forest Road 4301) off Highway 199. Drive approximately 6 miles to the campground. Just before Six Mile Day Use Area, take the spur road to the right to reach the parking area for the campsites.
