Echo Beach Campground
Open year-round, first-come, first-served. No fees, no reservations. Road conditions on Forest Road 4301 may limit winter access depending on weather.
About
Echo Beach Campground offers a secluded, primitive camping experience in southwestern Oregon's Illinois River corridor. This small campground sits along Forest Road 4301 and provides easy access to the Wild and Scenic Illinois River via a short downhill trail. The river offers opportunities for swimming, fishing, and simply enjoying the clear waters of this protected waterway. With only two campsites, Echo Beach maintains a quiet, uncrowded atmosphere. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. A vault toilet serves the campground, but there is no drinking water available, so campers must bring an adequate supply. There is no trash service, requiring visitors to pack out everything they bring in. This free, first-come, first-served campground is best suited for tent campers and those with small vehicles seeking a primitive backcountry experience. The narrow forest road and limited site size make it unsuitable for large RVs. The surrounding Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest offers hiking and opportunities to explore the rugged Illinois River watershed.
Directions
From Selma, Oregon, off Highway 199, turn onto Illinois River Road (Forest Road 4301). Travel approximately 9.6 miles and the campground will be on your left.
