About
Located in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, Grayback Campground sits in a beautiful forested setting approximately 5 miles from Oregon Caves National Monument. Several of the 39 tent sites are positioned along Sucker Creek, which provides refreshing swimming holes during warm summer days. The campground celebrates the amazing biodiversity unique to the Illinois Valley. Recreation opportunities include a 1-mile interpretive loop trail suitable for families that leads to Grayback Creek and winds around the historical Civilian Conservation Corps camp at the Cedar Guard Station. The campground features a spacious day-use area complete with a small amphitheater, large picnic area with shelters, and a fireplace. All sites include picnic tables and fire pits, and a campground host is typically available during operating season.
Directions
From Cave Junction, travel 12 miles east along Oregon State Highway 46 (Oregon Caves Highway). Campground is located on the right side of the road.
