About

Spalding Pond Campground offers a rustic camping experience near a 3-acre pond surrounded by majestic conifers in the Wild Rivers Ranger District. This primitive camping area sits at the site of a historic mill pond, now annually stocked with rainbow trout by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Fishing is best from spring to early summer. The campground provides accessible recreation opportunities with three accessible fishing platforms and a surfaced, accessible trail through the forest. The 4 campsites are equipped with picnic tables and fire pits but offer limited amenities. Campers must bring their own water and pack out all trash, as no garbage service is provided. An accessible restroom is available. The pond offers cool water for relief from hot valley temperatures, and non-motorized boats are permitted. Additional unimproved sites are located on a large landing up the hill from the pond. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum stay of 14 days. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m. and check-out is noon. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Dogs must be leashed, and OHV/ATV use is prohibited in the campground.
