About

Illahee Camping Area is situated along the Wild and Scenic Lower Rogue River within the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest in southwest Oregon. The area is in a remote location accessible via the Rogue River corridor. The campground is currently closed and unusable. No facilities are operational, including water, restrooms, or fee collection infrastructure. The closure status has been in effect for an extended period. When operational historically, the site provided primitive camping access near the scenic Rogue River, which was designated as one of the original eight Wild and Scenic Rivers in 1968. The surrounding area offers wilderness character and opportunities for river-based recreation, though visitors should note that Foster Bar and other developed campgrounds in the area remain the primary access points for the Lower Rogue River corridor.
