* WHAT...A moderate risk for sneaker waves is expected. Short period north-northwest wind waves will interact with a building west-northwest long period swell. * WHERE...The beaches of Douglas, Coos, and Curry counties. * WHEN...From late Saturday night through Monday afternoon. The risk will be highest during Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Sneaker waves can run up significantly farther on beaches than normal, including over rocks and jetties. These waves can suddenly knock people off of their feet and sweep them into the ocean. About
Rock Creek Campground is a small, peaceful retreat located on the shores of Rock Creek, a tributary of the South Fork Coquille River in southern Oregon's Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The 7 tent-only campsites provide tree-sheltered camping where visitors can enjoy the sounds of the creek. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit. The campground offers basic amenities including a vault toilet and garbage disposal service during peak season (Memorial Day through October). Potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own supply. Campfires are allowed in designated fire pits only. Quiet hours are enforced between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., and pets are welcome but must remain on leash. OHV/ATV use is prohibited within the campground. Nearby attractions include the Coquille Falls trailhead and other scenic areas along the Coquille River. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum stay of 14 days.
