About

Ferris Ford is home to a historic Cedar Bark House, a unique structure located approximately 15 miles south of Powers, Oregon, in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The site was once the location of the Ferris Ford Work Center, an expansion of a former experimental forest headquarters in the 1960s. The Cedar Bark House is the only remaining structure from the original site and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Forest Service undertook restoration efforts on this historic structure, with plans to make it available to the public as a recreational rental. The cabin represents a significant piece of regional history and offers a distinctive overnight experience in a remote forest setting. The area is situated in the coastal mountains of southwestern Oregon, providing access to the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.
