About
Hueston Woods State Park Campground sits within nearly 3,000 acres of protected land surrounding 625-acre Acton Lake in southwest Ohio, near the Indiana border. The park is known for its old-growth beech-maple forest, diverse wildlife, and unique fossil hunting opportunities in the exposed Ordovician limestone beds along Big Four Hollow. The campground is divided into multiple loops. Loops A and B offer full hookup and electric sites with pull-through options accommodating RVs up to 50 feet. These loops have full-service restroom and shower buildings. The remaining loops provide electric and non-electric primitive camping with vault restrooms. Amenities include a camp store at the check-in station, laundry facilities, WiFi throughout the camping area, playgrounds, basketball and volleyball courts, and a modern dump station. Acton Lake provides opportunities for fishing (bass, catfish, crappie), boating, and swimming at the beach. The park also features an 18-hole golf course, nature center, and extensive trail system. The Hueston Woods Lodge offers additional dining and amenities nearby.
