About

Quakertown State Recreation Area is one of two campgrounds at Brookville Lake, a 5,260-acre U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir in the historic Whitewater River Valley of southeastern Indiana. The campground offers electric hookup sites that accommodate RVs and trailers in a wooded lakeside setting. Modern amenities include comfort stations with flush toilets and showers, a camp store, and a dump station. Brookville Lake provides exceptional recreation opportunities including nationally recognized sport fishing for walleye, crappie, and bass. Two swimming beaches, multiple boat ramps, and marina facilities support water-based activities. The property features over 25 miles of hiking trails ranging from easy nature walks to rugged backcountry routes with scenic lake overlooks. A 3D archery range with 23 targets is located near the camp gate, operating April through August. The area preserves traces of prehistoric Native American mounds and contains significant Ordovician fossil deposits from a 450-million-year-old inland sea. The Brookville/Whitewater complex encompasses over 13,500 acres of diverse wildlife habitat managed cooperatively by the Indiana DNR and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control and recreation.

Use 3323 W Dunlapsville Rd, Liberty, IN 47353 for GPS navigation. From Indianapolis or Dayton, take I-70 to Exit 151, Highway 27 South to Liberty, then Highway 101 South. From Cincinnati, take I-74 to Exit 169, Highway 52 West to Brookville, then Highway 101 North.
